2021 National Jamboree

Calling All Volunteers Interested in Serving as a Unit Leader!

Are you interested in serving as an adult leader in one of Northern Star Scouting's provisional Troops for the 2021 National Scout Jamboree? If so, we are asking that you complete the application form below by Saturday February 15th. Participating as a unit leader for a National Scout Jamboree is a fun and rewarding experience, and also ensures that all of our youth participants have a Jamboree experience to last a lifetime. As a unit leader, you play a critical role in recruiting and building Northern Star Scouting's 2021 National Scout Jamboree contingent. We hope that you will consider joining with us as we recruit, plan, and take part in a memorable Scouting adventure!

WHEN

Unit leader applications are due on Saturday March 15th to be considered by the Jamboree Committee. Once formally notified, unit leaders will be engaged in recruiting, planning, and implementing Northern Star Scouting's contingent programming through the National Scout Jamboree (July 21-30, 2021).

WHO

All unit leaders must meet the following requirements:

  • Must be a currently registered member of the Boy Scouts of America.
  • Scoutmasters and First Assistant Scoutmasters Must be at least 21 years of age by the first day of the Jamboree.
  • Second Assistant Scoutmasters must be at least 18 years of age by the first day of the Jamboree.

  • Third Assistant Scoutmasters must be at least 18 years of age by the first day of the Jamboree, and not yet 21 years of age by the last day of the Jamboree.
  • Must be approved to serve by Northern Star Scouting.
  • Scoutmaster applicants must be currently serving as a primary unit leader.
  • First, Second, or Third Assistant Scoutmasters must be currently serving in any unit leadership position.
  • Scoutmaster applicants must have completed appropriate leader specific training.
  • All adult leaders must have current Youth Protection Training.
  • Participate and assist in planning the pre-Jamboree training experience with Northern Star Scouting.
  • Submitted BSA Annual Health and Medical Record (AHMR) using the online Jamboree submission process. The AHMR must be dated on or after July 1, 2020.
  • Submit all registrations fees per Northern Star Scouting's payment schedule.

YOUTH PARTICIPANT INFORMATION

Information regarding registration will be posted here as soon as details are available. For general program questions, visit the National Scout Jamboree website.

All youth participants must meet the following qualifications:

  • Must be a currently registered member of the Boy Scouts of America.
  • Must be at least 12 years of age by the first day of the Jamboree, but has not reached the age of 18 by the last day of the Jamboree.
  • Must be approved by Northern Star Scouting.
  • Must have appropriate parent or guardian complete the online parental consent.
  • Participate in the pre-Jamboree training experience with Northern Star Scouting.
  • Submitted BSA Annual Health and Medical Record (AHMR) using the online Jamboree submission process. The AHMR must be dated on or after July 1, 2020.
  • Submit all registrations fees per Northern Star Scouting's payment schedule.
