Be A Campmaster!

Looking for Campmasters

The Northern Star Council always has openings for campmasters.  Campmasters are volunteer scouters that serve at council camps on weekends.  If you are looking to stay active in scouting after your boys or girls have completed the program, then we have a spot for you.  Campmasters, overall, supply 24 thousand hours per year serving council camps

Who can campmaster? – any registered adult may campmaster.  We have many husband and wife teams as well as two or more men and women teams.

What do campmasters do? - Assist the ranger with check-in and out of the units at weekend council camps.  Check out available program equipment to units.  Support the unit leaders if programing help is needed.  Be available to all units if an emergency arises.

When do I campmaster and for how long? – The campmaster weekend’s start on Friday night and end at Sunday noon.

Where do I stay? – Campmasters have their own housing units with complete kitchen, bedrooms, bathroom with flush toilets and showers, and a living room.  Some buildings have a fireplace and all have a TV.

Will I be trained? – All campmasters will receive group training as well as one-on-one training.

How many times a year do I campmaster? – That is your choice.  Some sign up for several weekends during the year and some do one or two.
