White Bear Makerspace - Derby Cars and Woodworking Badge
White Bear Makerspace
Cut and shape car – You would have access to our shop and all of its tools to cut out and shape your race car.
Put car together – Once the car pieces are shaped and ready to go, we’ll help you put it together. We’ll have the hardware and tools to get it together.
Paint – There will be a painting station to add some flare to the vehicle.
Customizing your car – We have a wide variety of vinyl to add racing stripes or troop number or whatever to the car. We also have a laser cutter that could engrave things on the car. This would need to be decided before we put it together.
Derby shirts – Another use of the vinyl is to make t-shirts. The scouts can make team shirts for race day – they can look like a real race team – there would be an additional charge for this
- $7.00 per scout to assemble and decorate the car
- $12.00 per person to make a t-shirt
We are a premier woodworking shop located in the northern suburbs and have put together 4 projects that will fulfill the requirements for the Woodworking Merit Badge. The projects are a walking stick, bench, cribbage board or an intarsia Eagle. The projects cost $65.00 per scout and include all materials needed, the space to build it and instruction.
If you have a different project in mind, contact us and we’ll see what we can put together.
