Fall 2019 University of Scouting a Success!
Over 575 Scouts, Scouting volunteers and Scouting partners from around the council participated in the Fall University of Scouting held at Saint Paul College on Saturday, October 26, 2019. The opening ceremony kicked off the day with a brief 100 year history of the University of Scouting and opening remarks from Scout Executive John Andrews. There was training for everyone including Leader Specific Training for Cub, Scouts BSA, and Venturing Leaders. Many additional classes on topics important to Scouts, Scout Leaders, and parents were held; ScoutBook, CPR, outdoor cooking, STEM, Friends of Scouting, disability awareness, youth recruiting, and many more. The Youth Leadership College's Patrol Leader Academy, Senior Patrol Leader Academy, and Communication Merit Badge were definitely a highlight for youth attending the event. At the end of the day, Scouts, Venturers, and Scout Leaders left the event energized and equipped with new skills and resources to deliver the best Scouting program possible to our communities.
