Many Point Volunteer Thanks
Thanks to Kathy Longar!
As we all know, volunteers are amazing and continue to make Scouting better and better. This last year, there is one volunteer who has made an impact so strong it inspired me to want to thank her! Not only has Kathy Longar been Campmaster, Summer Camp Coordinator, help host Cook Off's at Stearns, and so much more - she's really went above and beyond for a place she really loves - Many Point Family Camp.
Kathy submitted an article to the Star Tribune (link http://www.startribune.com/cabin-near-their-scout-camper-near-ponsford-minn-was-just-right/513508312/) that was put in both their digital and print editions! This highlight has led to interest from other families who will now get to benefit from our program! Additionally, she is working to repair and replace cushions for couches in the family camp lodge. When asked why she was willing to do all of this for us - she shared how Family Camp made an impact on her family, and that she wants other families to get the same benefit. Kathy has three daughters - all who's love of the outdoors was helped by the time spent at Many Point. And they are ambitious women - one working towards a PHD in Geology, another daughter is considering majoring in Geo-engineering, and the third is going to National Outdoor Leadership School.
Thank you Kathy for your support - and all you do for Scouting!
