Help Send a Scout to Camp!

Scouts go to camp all year long—during the sunny weeks in summer and the snowy weekends in winter. Your donation to the Youth Campership Program helps hundreds of children from low-income families, families under stress, and at-risk youth attend camp. Because of your generosity, young people have the opportunity to experience the wonders of nature, the joy of fellowship, and the sheer fun of jumping off the boat dock.

Your gift keeps the camping experience affordable for all young people. The value of outdoor activities can’t be overstated. Youth learn more about themselves and their abilities when they step outside of their day-to-day surroundings. In 2021, over $50,000 in scholarships were made available to youth to participate in camp. Although our camps remain affordable, with these uncertain economic times, we project the need for camp scholarships to increase this year. Camp scholarships are not just for summer camp, we have Scouts going to fall and winter camps who are requesting help, too.

Consider joining other Scouters in helping a disadvantaged youth go to camp. On average, it costs $304 per youth participant in Scouts BSA to attend a week-long session of summer resident camp.

The need is great, the need is real, and with the support of caring individuals like you, we will be able to continue to teach our young people in an outdoor classroom how to be leaders in the world.
