An Amazing Million Dollar Day for Scouting

Inspiration, Recognition and Donations Topping $1.6 Million

Nearly 600 volunteers, donors, and community advocates attended Million Dollar Day for Scouting - two breakfasts designed to raise $1 million and launch the 2025 annual fundraising campaign.  This year participants saw a snapshot of Scouting’s impact on youth as they shared fellowship and made their contributions to Scouting.

The events featured co-Emcees Tyler Skindelien and Zach Tapajna of Troop 3446 chartered to Transfiguration Lutheran Church. Both Emcees shared how Scouting impacted their lives and led guests through the programs.  At both events, Cassie Gutierrez of Troop 7446 chartered to the Rotary Club of Eagan shared how her time in Scouting helped her grow from a shy kid to a confident leader.

As the Keynote Speaker for each of the programs, Col. John Litecky, shared how he incorporated his experience in Scouting and as an Eagle Scout into all aspects of his 25-year career in the U.S. Air Force.

The breakfasts included the presentation of the Scoutmaster of Philanthropy Awards to the Fred C. & Katherine B. Andersen Foundation at St. Paul and Bob and Carol Oldowski at Fort Snelling for their roles in growing community support for Scouting. Other highlights of the days were the inspirational singing of the Scout song “On My Honor” by Life Scout Mitchell Folks of Troop 9196, and presentation of the Heroism Award to Hugo, Ivan and Orin Eberhard and Eli Fleischman for rescuing animals from a burning home.
