"Curbside Program Kick-Offs" Coming this Summer
“Curbside Program Kick-Offs” is again the plan for distributing the program and recruitment materials that Northern Star Scouting units need to prepare for and to be successful in the coming year.
Important change this year: We have moved up the dates for ALL “Curbside Program Kick-off” events by one week in order to provide program materials to our Scouting units earlier! The dates listed below are one week earlier than what is printed in the Northern Star Scouting calendar.
If your pack, troop, crew, or ship has your CORE Unit Charter Renewal materials ready to turn in, we will accept those at the site as well. Unit Charter Renewals are processed as quickly as we receive them, so beat the rush and turn yours in right away to have it reviewed and processed early!
How it will work:
Every district will have their own “Curbside Kick-off”! on either Thursday July 28 or Tuesday August 2. Unit leaders will drive in the parking lot and will be directed to drive through and stop at our various distribution spots for materials. Drive through times at the sites are 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm.
Materials to be distributed will include:
Fall recruitment materials
Popcorn sale info/materials
Council Program Catalogs, with info on: Summer camps, winter camps, Fall Day Camp/Spooky-Ree, Popcorn sale materials, STEM and council activities, Basic leader training, University of Scouting’s, Wood Badge, BALOO, Grey Wolf, Introduction to Outdoor Leadership Skills Course, etc., And MORE!!!
Each of the distribution “stations” will have a staff member/volunteer attending to it. Each station will have specific materials. As the unit leader drives up and stops at each “station”, they will be given their materials.
All “Curbside Kick-off” times are from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. District Executives are currently working to secure dates and locations, so stay tuned for more information, or contact your Friendly District Executive!
