Enhance your Program Plan with Council Activities and Events
Are you still working on planning your unit program calendar for the 2021-22 program year? Be sure to take advantage of all the great information gathered in the Northern Star Scouting Calendar and Program Planning Guide. Why work harder than necessary to plan a full year of fun and productive Scouting programs? Take advantage of the full range of events and activities being planned and executed at the Council level to round out your full year of programming. This guide includes events run by the Activities and Civic Service Committee as well as the Camping Committee. Events tailored to each of the Scout program levels are highlighted in the various program level sections and all the events are listed on the planning calendar at the end. You should find that all these events are now listed on the online calendar as well.
If you are involved in a Scouts BSA or Venturing unit, provide this information to your Patrol Leaders’ Council or Venturing youth leaders and encourage them to incorporate these opportunities in their program planning. If you are in a Cub Scouting unit, make sure the Cubmaster and Pack Committee have access to this information in laying out the plan for the Pack.
Council level events and programs bring together Scouts from multiple units and locations and help your Scouts see that Scouting is bigger than just your unit. Large scale events can provide large scale fun and adventure beyond your capability to plan and execute programs at the unit level. Take advantage of them!
