Exploring Volunteer Profile: DuWayne Dixon
DuWayne (DuWey) Dixon began his involvement with Law Enforcement Exploring in 1998 as a Committee Member with Post #3505, sponsored by the St. Louis Park Police Department. He later served as a Committee member with Post #3911, sponsored by the MN Law Enforcement Exploring Association (MLEEA) in 2001. He has served in multiple roles since that time including Committee Member, Advisor, Treasurer and Committee Chair.
DuWey is best known for his behind-the-scenes activities planning and providing operational activities in support of the MLEEA sponsored Minnesota Law Enforcement Exploring Conference in Rochester, MN. DuWey books the conference space, the hotels and the meals for hundreds of Law Enforcement Explorers, Advisors, Judges and Role Players annually. He also maintains the Association accounts including the MLEEA Scholarships and he sits on the MLEEA Board Executive Committee.
DuWey was recognized with a William H. Spurgeon III Award in 2014, this is highest Award a Council can give to an Exploring Volunteer!
In June of 2022 DuWey was recognized as the National LFL/Exploring Volunteer f the Month, a recognition given out to only 12 volunteers annually.
