Meet Sam: Our New Exploring Service Team Chair
Sam Alexander-Sedey's unwavering commitment to safety and service is truly remarkable. With over two decades of experience at the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), Sam has demonstrated his expertise and dedication time and time again. Currently serving as the Baggage Operations Supervisor at the bustling Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport, he plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and secure flow of travel.
But Sam's contributions extend far beyond his professional endeavors. During his well-deserved free time, he dedicates himself to making a positive impact in his community. As a park ranger with Anoka County, Sam patrols and safeguards 22 county parks, ensuring that visitors can enjoy nature safely. His commitment to fostering a love for the outdoors is truly commendable.
However, Sam's most cherished role is that of a loving husband and father. Celebrating 20 years of marriage with his wonderful wife Sylvia, they have built a beautiful family together. Their two sons, Michael and Christopher, are the pride and joy of their lives. Sam actively participates in his boys' extracurricular activities, coaching their bowling team and supporting their scout Troop 3524 in Coon Rapids. With Michael already attaining the prestigious rank of Eagle Scout and Christopher on the verge of achieving the same honor, Sam's guidance and encouragement have undoubtedly played a significant role in their success, including both being members of the SBM Fire Exploring Post and the MN State Patrol Exploring Post.
In addition to his family and community engagements, Sam generously volunteers his time as a chaplain and member of the Rehab team with the Spring Lake Park, Blaine, Moundsview (SBM) Fire Department. His compassionate nature and dedication to supporting others are truly inspiring. As a licensed EMT and firearms safety instructor, he possesses the skills to make a difference in critical situations.
Sam's thirst for knowledge and personal growth is evident through his participation in the Blaine Citizens Academy and his CERT certification from the MSP Fire Department. These achievements showcase his eagerness to continuously enhance his skills and understanding of emergency response.
When he finally gets a moment to relax, Sam enjoys the company of his two loyal canine companions, Pickles, a Cavi-Bichon and Gibby, a mini Australian Shepherd.
He also loves to collect challenge coins as well as police department patches.
Sam will be at some of our Fall Open Houses in 2023, be sure to greet him!
