New Many Point Camp Director

Meet Bernadette

We are happy to announce that our new Many Point Scout Camp Director is Bernadette Takash. We are so excited to have her on the Camp Northern Star Team. While she may be new to Many Point, she is certainly no stranger to scouting or the camping world. With a B.S. in Biology from Berry College, she has worked in diverse outdoor roles across the country, including Northern Tier High Adventure Base, Philmont Scout Ranch, Tomahawk Scout Camp, YMCA of the Rockies, and Nature’s Classroom. Whether guiding crews through the remote wilderness or leading team-building programs, Bernadette is committed to creating meaningful outdoor experiences that inspire confidence and resilience.

When asked what her favorite work experience has been, Bernadette responded: I really enjoyed my time at Philmont Scout Ranch. As a ranger, I was taking crews into the backcountry and got to go hiking and camping every day. I am thankful I had the opportunity to teach outdoor skills to youth in such a special place. The friendships I made at Philmont ultimately led me to Northern Star Scouting and the position I have today."

Bernadette also stated her favorite camp activities: "I enjoy anything on or near the water whether it's boating, swimming, or just hanging out on the docks or at the beach. I also love being around the climbing towers; I started as a climbing director and I love figuring out new ways to get up and feeling accomplished when I do."

Reflecting on her new position, Bernadette shared: "I am very excited to join the Many Point staff and community as the next Camping Director. Everyone I have interacted with has been extremely welcoming and passionate about their love for Many Point, and I can't wait to continue to meet all the people that make it such a special place. My favorite memories come from summer camp settings, and I look forward to creating countless more up at Many Point."

Bernadette is looking forward to a great summer and is eager to immerse herself in camp traditions, listen to the experiences of returning staff, and ensure that Many Point continues to be a place where scouts and leaders create lifelong memories.
