Offering NRA Rifle and Shotgun Instructor Training

If you are interested in becoming an NRA Certified Rifle Instructor or NRA Certified Shotgun Instructor, we are pleased to share openings in the course being offered Friday, May 2 through Sunday, May 4, 2025, at Stearns Scout Camp near Annandale, Minnesota.

These courses are available for anyone interested in:

• becoming a Rifle or Shotgun Merit Badge Counselor,
• being able to have shooting sports programs for your troop or crew, 
• wanting to be on a Camporee or National Jamboree Shooting Sports staff,
• wanting to be a Camp Staffer in the area of shooting sports.

The course is a full 3 days and provides Basic Instructor Training, and then the trainings to certify individuals as NRA Rifle AND NRA Shotgun Instructors.

All 5 required courses, materials, range time, meals, snacks, and indoor lodging (with bunks, showers and indoor bathrooms!) are included in the fee of $480.

Space is limited for volunteers as we provide this training for members our camp staff.
