Resources for the Reverent Scout

Sacred texts provide an important way for Scouts and their families to connect with their Religious beliefs. Scouts Read Sacred Texts is an initiative from Scouting America's National Religious Committee. This is an invitation for Scouts worldwide to read sacred texts from their religion on May 1, 2025, or any time in the week of May 1st.  By reading the texts Scouts are given an opportunity to demonstrate their Duty to God , grow in their faith and learn more about their Faith tradition. 

We have three suggestions for Scouts Read Sacred Text events:  

1. Read from home with your family your faith's Sacred Texts. 
2. Ask your Faith leader to read at their faith location, invite Scouts to attend. 
3. Invite a Scout friend to participate in this event at their home of Faith location.
