Stay Cool, Go Winter Camping!

Have you ever camped in Snow? If you haven’t, you don’t know the half of camping in Minnesota and Wisconsin. Winter camp is fun and easy We’ll show you how!

Enjoy an outfitted weekend of winter fun with our trained Staff in January or February. Staying warm is easy when we provide cold weather training, winter clothing, camping equipment, excellent meals, and outdoor activities. Our tiered programs and commitment to innovation ensures fun for all experience levels a new challenges each winter. This turn key program makes winter camping easy to do.

Where is Winter Camp?

Northern Star Scouting offers two great winter camping programs:
• North Wind, at Stearns Scout Camp (Annandale, MN)
• Snow Base, at Tomahawk Scout Reservation (Birchwood, WI)

Who Can Attend Winter Camp?

Scouts BSA, Venturing Scouts, and Adults

When is winter camp offered?

Weekends in January and February

When and how do we register?

Registrations for the Dog Sledding program at Snow Base open on August 1 at noon. Registrations for all other programs open on October 1 at noon. A $25 non-refundable deposit is due upon time of registration. Registration is online. Registration links will go live on the day registration opens. Registration will be taken on first come, first served basis.

What Is Provided?

North Wind and Snow Base will provide the equipment (sleds, sleeping bags, cooking, etc...), most of all the cold weather clothing (boots, socks, mittens and more). Scouts bring their own long underwear and jacket/raincoat/sweaters). We provide all meals.
