Support the Future inaugural Class of Female Eagle Scouts

Meet Skylar Harteneck and Lauren Verweg—two young women who are part of a new era in Scouting. They are members of the inaugural class of female Scouts who are working to earn the rank of Eagle Scout in February 2021.

With more than 45 years of experience serving girls in Scouting’s co-ed Venturing and career Exploring programs, girls were welcomed into Cub Scouts in 2018 and Scouts BSA in February of 2019.

Both Skylar and Lauren came from Scouting families — their brothers were active Scouts and the girls often “tagged along” on camping trips, hikes, and other activities. When the opportunity to officially join Scouts BSA arrived, they were thrilled. Now, they have their sights set on becoming Eagle Scouts and mentoring other girls in Scouting to help them reach their goals.

This inaugural class is a good example of how your passion and belief in Scouting impacts the lives of both boys and girls in our community. Northern Star Scouting needs your help to spread the word. Please share this story with friends who can also help ensure that financial resources are available to support future female Scouts.

Be part of an exciting future…support Scouting!
