Announcing the Quarter Millennium Award
In 2026, our nation will commemorate its 250th anniversary—a historic milestone that calls for reflection, celebration, and service. In honor of this occasion, with the hard work of youth in the Order of the Arrow, Northern Star Scouting is proud to introduce the Quarter Millennium Award, a council-wide recognition designed to inspire meaningful engagement in our communities, foster environmental stewardship, and promote patriotism. This award will be available to all program levels within Northern Star Scouting, including Cub Scouts, Scouts BSA, Sea Scouts, Venturers, Explorers, and Adults. It encourages participants to deepen their understanding of American history, actively serve their communities, and embody the values of Scouting through civic involvement.
Recipients of the award will receive a commemorative pin featuring the Quarter Millennium Celebration logo. This emblem draws inspiration from the logo used by the national 250th anniversary and National Jamboree, with a distinctive touch: the Northern Star Scouting logo embedded in the zero, symbolizing our local pride and commitment. We are excited to share the spirit of Scouting with our communities and inspire the next generation to make a lasting impact. We hope every member of our council will take part in earning this award—and together, we look forward to the positive change we can create, one Scout at a time.
Each scout or scouter that completes the requirements will have the opportunity to purchase a limited-edition enameled pin to commemorate the 250th anniversary.
NOTE: Individuals may earn the award a single time. All requirements to be completed between January 1, 2026 through December 31, 2026.
How to receive Awards:
- Complete the listed requirements for each individual earning the award.
- Fill out the requirement form and sign.
- Submit completed forms to the council office to be eligible to purchase the award pin.
- Pins will be $1 each
As a unit, please encourage your members, both youth and adults, to earn this award. Any unit that has at least 50% of their members (Youth & Adult) earn this award earns an additional pin to go on the unit’s Roadmap to Units Success ribbon.
