BALOO Training this Fall

Cub Scout leaders and outdoor volunteers are invited to take their adventure skills to the next level at the 2026 Fall BALOO (Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation) Training. This essential training will be held September 26-27, 2026, at Stearns Scout Camp in South Haven, Minnesota, beginning at 9:00 a.m. Saturday and concluding at 11:00 a.m. Sunday. The course includes an overnight camping experience and a required Zoom session prior to the weekend event.

BALOO is designed for leaders responsible for planning and leading Cub Scout outdoor activities. Participants will gain practical, hands-on experience in camping skills, outdoor program planning, campfire programs, hiking, first aid, meal preparation, water safety, and more. The training provides the knowledge and confidence needed to create safe, memorable outdoor adventures for Cub Scouts and their families.

Having a BALOO-trained leader is required for Cub Scout pack camping trips, making this course an important investment in your unit's outdoor program.
