Future Leaders in Law Enforcement Gather for 2026 Exploring Academy

More than 150 Law Enforcement Explorers gathered at the HERO Center in Cottage Grove, MN, to take part in the 2026 Law Enforcement Exploring Academy, widely known as “Mini-State.” This high-impact, hands-on event serves as the final preparation for the Annual Minnesota Law Enforcement Explorer Association (MLEEA) State Conference in Rochester this April.

During the academy, Explorers participated in realistic scenarios, skill evaluations, and team-based challenges designed to mirror real-world law enforcement situations. The experience pushed them to sharpen critical thinking, leadership, and decision-making skills while building confidence and camaraderie with peers from across the state.

The event’s success was made possible through the dedication of many volunteers and partners. Sincere thanks to event coordinator Brandon Brugger, the judges and role players who created meaningful training experiences, and the Exploring Advisors whose guidance continues to shape future leaders.

Special appreciation goes to the HERO Center staff and Director Dan Anselment for their outstanding support and exceptional facility. Thanks to their efforts, the 2026 Mini-State provided a powerful and memorable training experience as Explorers prepare for the upcoming state conference.
