Fall IOLS and Scoutmaster/Assistant Scoutmaster Trainings

Parents and adult volunteers looking to deepen their Scouting experience are invited to attend Scoutmaster/Assistant Scoutmaster Specific Training and Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills (IOLS) on October 3–4, 2026, at Adventure Base near Duluth. This hands-on weekend provides the training required for Scoutmasters and Assistant Scoutmasters while also serving as an excellent introduction for parents who want to better understand how Scouts BSA troops operate.

Participants will spend the weekend as members of “Troop 2026,” learning essential outdoor skills such as camping, cooking, first aid, leadership, and teamwork through an interactive, patrol-based experience. The course is designed to build confidence, strengthen outdoor knowledge, and help adults better support the youth in their troop.

The training includes meals, course materials, and overnight camping. Registration is $45 through August 20 and $55 after August 20. Space is limited, and these courses traditionally fill quickly, so early registration is encouraged.

Whether you're stepping into a leadership role or simply want to learn more about the Scouts BSA program, this weekend is a great opportunity to gain practical skills and connect with other Scouting families.
