How to Sign Up as an Adult Member
Volunteering with the Boy Scouts is Easy
If you'd like to be an adult volunteer (age 21 or older) with a
local Scouting unit (Cub Scout Pack, Boy Scout Troop, Venturing Crew, or Sea Scout Ship) follow these steps.
- Obtain a Boy Scouts of America Adult Leader Application from your
local Scouting leader, local Boy Scouts of America Council Service Center, or download a copy from this page.
- Return the completed Adult Leader Application form to the local
Scouting leader with the registration fee. Make sure to fill out the
application completely; including references, additional background
information, and signing the form for Disclosure/Authorization to have
a background check performed.
- The adult leader will handle
getting your application processed. Part of this process will be
getting approval of your application to volunteer from the Scouting
unit's chartering organization.
- The Scouting unit's leader will take care of getting your
application approved and processed at the local Boy Scouts of America
Service Center.
