Jamborees: National, World, and On-The-Air
Share the adventure of Scouting with Scouts from across the country and world
NATIONAL SCOUT JAMBOREE
The first National Scout Jamboree was scheduled to be held by the Boy Scouts of America in Washington, D.C. in 1935 to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Scouting in the United States of America. Unfortunately, the 1935 National Scout Jamboree was canceled due to a polio outbreak in Washington, D.C. When the National Scout Jamboree was finally held in 1937, Dan Beard lit the opening campfire with wood that had been brought by Scouts from all 48 states.
The next National Scout Jamboree will be held at the Summit Bechtel Reserve in West Virginia July 22-31. 2026. More information regarding Northern Star Scouting's contingent coming soon.

WORLD SCOUT JAMBOREE
The World Scout Jamboree is the largest regular event organized by the World Organization of the Scouting Movement. Just like our National Scout Jamboree, the World Scout Jamboree takes place every four years. Scouts from National Scout Associations around the world take part in the World Scout Jamboree, with the goal to educate and promote peace and understanding between cultures.
JAMBOREE ON-THE-AIR (J.O.T.A)
