Movo AI and Scouting Orientation
As part of our ongoing membership growth efforts, Northern Star Scouting has launched Movo, a new technology designed to make it easier for units to connect with families interested in Scouting through BeAScout.org.
Thanks to everyone able to join our training on Wednesday night. For those of you who missed it, you can watch a recording here.
Next Steps for Unit Leaders:
-
Update Unit Pin Data: Update the unit’s BSA Scout PIN via My.scouting.org > Organization Manager with accurate meeting details, location, fees, contacts, and other relevant information so Movo can answer prospective-family questions.
-
Secure Movo Access: Unit Key Three leaders have been sent a Movo invite - check your junk mail. If you need a new one, reach out to Greg Ball and we'll send one to you asap.
-
Unit Knowledge Base: Add unit-specific information, events, calendars, documents, contact details, and languages spoken to the Movo knowledge base
-
Collect Names: Use the attached interest sheet to collect and upload new prospects into the Movo system.
Movo officially launched this week and will now help respond to online inquiries from families looking for information about local Scouting units.
What is Movo?
Movo is a virtual assistant that helps answer common questions from families interested in joining Scouting. It can provide information about:
- Meeting days, times, and locations
- Costs and registration
- How to visit a unit meeting
- General questions about your Scouting program
- Other frequently asked questions
Movo can respond within minutes and at any time of day, helping families get the information they need without requiring unit leaders to constantly monitor an inbox.
When a family asks a question that Movo cannot answer, the unit will receive a notification so a leader can respond when they have a chance.
The goal is simple: help prospective families get answers faster while making it easier for our units to connect with new members!
