Northern Star Scouting Names Greg Ball as Chief Growth Officer
FORT SNELLING, Minn. — Northern Star Scouting is pleased to announce the promotion of Greg Ball to Chief Growth Officer, a newly created executive leadership position dedicated to expanding access to Scouting programs and helping more young people and families experience the life-changing benefits of Scouting.
Ball was selected following a highly competitive search that attracted a wide field of applicants. He distinguished himself through his strategic vision for growth, collaborative leadership style, and deep commitment to ensuring that families can easily discover, understand, and engage in Scouting opportunities.

"Throughout his career, he has demonstrated an ability to innovate, build strong teams, and deliver results. His leadership will help us connect more families to the experiences that make Scouting so impactful, from outdoor adventure and service to leadership development and lifelong friendships."
Ball brings more than 21 years of professional Scouting experience to the role, having served in leadership positions focused on membership growth, program delivery, fundraising, and volunteer engagement. Throughout his career, he has championed efforts to modernize how Scouting connects with today's families through digital outreach, streamlined communications, volunteer support, and data-informed recruitment and retention strategies.
As Chief Growth Officer, Ball will oversee membership growth, family recruitment and retention, community engagement, marketing strategy, and innovation initiatives designed to expand access to Scouting across Minnesota and western Wisconsin.
When asked about the future of Scouting, Greg Ball said, "Modern Families want what Scouting has to offer – time away from screens, opportunities to forge friendships and self-confidence, and a place for kids to challenge themselves. We just have to find new ways to help families find us, and once they do – deliver a Scouting program that fits their busy lives."
Ball holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Augustana College and a Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership from St. Catherine University. His education and experience have prepared him to guide Northern Star Scouting’s growth strategy at a time when families are looking for trusted, community-based programs that help young people learn, lead, and belong.
