New Kiwanis Camp Manager
It is my great pleasure to introduce one of our new camping team members who started Wednesday, March 16th.
After an extensive search which yielded numerous quality candidates, we are very happy to introduce Jake Tschida who will take over the reigns as both Ranger and Camp Director at Kiwanis Scout Camp. Jake has a long history with Northern Star Council and is an Eagle Scout from Burnsville, Minnesota. After high school, he went to North Dakota State University and obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Television Broadcasting. While attending college, and after, Jake spent 8 summers working at Many Point Scout Camp. He started as a Commissioner and moved up to Aquatics Director and even a Camp Director.
Nowadays, Jake enjoys spending time with his niece, nephews, and god-daughters. He also enjoys any water activities, sports, running races, and bowling.
Jake is very excited to get back into Scouting and be able to spend much of his time outdoors year round. He will hit the ground running with a trip to National Camp School at Philmont this month, and will continue his training with a certification in Pool Management when he returns. Jake will move into the Ranger house at Kiwanis in mid-April. Jake has a unique role in the BSA system, filling two critical roles. Jake will have to manage his time, devoting an equal amount to each of the two roles. Jake steps into one of the premier customer service facilities in our Council, and will be responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of that facility, as well as the continuance of the tradition of high quality programs.
Please join me in welcoming Jake to the NSC Team!
