Northern Star Exploring Mourns

Northern Star Exploring mourns the loss of Paul Elmstrand, one of the three first responders killed during a domestic situation in Burnsville, MN on February 18, 2024. Paul along with fellow first responders, Burnsville Police Officer Mathew Ruge and Firefighter/EMT Adam Finseth were killed in the line of duty.

Paul Elmstrand began his Law Enforcement career as a member of the Law Enforcement Exploring Post #3240, sponsored by the Isanti County Sheriff's Office where he was a member from May 2012-December 2016.

All three men were remembered during several memorial services following their deaths.

Northern Star Exploring wishes to thank all of these heroes for their dedication and sacrifice and salute Paul for retaining the quest for justice that he began learning during his years in Exploring.
